First of all, Im Dat Boi P an upcoming rapper/producer. As I was in the mall i met one of my long time freinds a true hip hop head. So i asked him to give me an honest review. Since we grew up together i expected a good review. But he had something different in mind. This what he posted on his blog the other week:

Once again Im here to review another mixtape today. But instead of reviewing somebody currently in the game, I wanted to review somebody who is coming up in the game. Today, Im review Dat Boi P’s(an upcomin rapper from South Carolina) mixtape entitled "Smokin Session". And yes, on this mixtape he talks about enjoying marjuana but he uses creativety to do so. Before I reviewed it i kind of had an idea that the CD was goin to be wack based on his age (he is only 16). When i first played the CD, he states "I know what you thinkin, lil dude cant be a positive influence cause all he raps about is smokin weed, truth is i dont give a f***". Im glad he states. He addresses the media lettin them know that he likes doin music rather its positive or not. Anyway, the beat drops and he starts flowin. When i heard i was like "wow" T.I. is crushin it. But it wasn’t T.I. He raps about 24 bars then the hook comes in talkin about everybodys rollin up. To be honest, it was a nice track for an Intro pertaining to this subject. The second track "Been In Da Club" is nice to. The beat is very well done (he produces his own instrumentals, but some instrumentals on the mixtape are commerical instrumentals). The only thang wrong is the guy on the second verse. He is flowin but he is pure garbage to me. The hook is alright tho and the last verse is split between Dat Boi P and the guy on the hook (Dame). The other tracks were nice to but the track that stuck out to me the most was the outro "Mama Said". I loved this song because he raps about how he has messed up and his mama’s reactions to him messin up. The mixtape overall was nice. This guy can rap his ass off. Instead of Lil Ru, I think he should have been SC’s artist of the year. Only thing wrong with the mixtape tho is that he has a number of features. There is nothing wrong with features but the artists he featured are not as good as him and once you hear them it makes you want to take the CD out. Dat Boi P once told me that his secret to rapping is not the lyrics even tho they play a big part in rappin, but its how you flow and stay on beat and most of all consistency. For a first official mixtape, its very good. But my advice to him was that his second mixtape should be just him by himself with maybe one or two "RnB" features, not rap features. After I got done listening to it tho, I coudln’t believe that he still isn’t signed yet. But i could understand why his "homeboys" were not signed. Ugh!

Production 7 (the songs are well put together, he just need to get rid of them feautres once again)

Worst Tracks Been In Da Club (Its not him, its his homeboy on the second verse, WTF?)
